Junior Designer / Draftsperson

We are a Venice Beach based architectural and multi-disciplinary design studio looking for a full-time Junior Designer with a minimum of a 5-year professional Bachelor's of Architecture degree, Master's Degree in Architecture, or technical degree equivalent. Our studio provides many opportunities for professional growth and experience regarding design, documentation and development of unique, modern architectural ideas.  Our work is highly diversified and consists of hospitality, commercial, mixed use, multi-family residential, high-end custom single-family residential work, and interior design.

Minimum experience requirements for consideration are 2+ years of full-time office work experience, a strong knowledge of and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, as well as experience in preparing Construction Documents. Proficiency in written and spoken English as well as authorization to work in the US is a must. Other related and desirable skills would include:  proficiency in Adobe Suite programs and all basic Microsoft Office programs, familiarity with local Building and Zoning Codes, and familiarity with fundamental construction methodology. Responsibilities are based on the applicant's abilities but would typically consist of assistance with the development of For Permit and For Construction drawing sets for architectural and interior design drawings sets, communication and coordination with consultants, clients, and team members, as well as participation in City meetings & filing of For Permit sets. Photoshop/Rendering expertise (Maxwell, V-Ray, etc) is a plus. All applicants should should present ambition for growth and be motivated to take direction and initiative with minimal supervision.

Project Manager

Our studio provides many opportunities for professional growth and experience regarding design, documentation and development of unique, modern architectural ideas.  Our work is highly diversified and consists of hospitality, commercial, mixed use, multi-family residential, high-end custom single-family residential work, and interior design.

Minimum experience requirements for consideration are 5+ years of full-time office work experience, a strong knowledge of and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, familiarity with the California Building Code and International Building Code, as well as experience in preparing Construction Documents and carrying a project through Construction Administration. On site review of construction methodology and experience in construction detailing, consultant coordination, comfort in regularly attending and leading City meetings and filing for Permit are required. Proficiency in written and spoken English and authorization to work in the US are also required. Other related and desirable skills would include: proficiency in Adobe Suite programs and all basic Microsoft Office programs, 3D modeling experience and rendering programs (Maxwell, V-Ray, etc). Responsibilities are based on the applicant's abilities and experience but would typically consist of complete development and management of projects from Permit through For Construction architectural drawings sets, interior design drawings sets, communication and coordination with consultants, clients, and management of junior team members, as well as leadership in City meetings & filing of For Permit sets. All applicants should be able to manage projects and junior staff with confidence, and be able to take on direction and initiative with minimal supervision.

Administrative Assistant

Electric Bowery is looking for an Administrative / Office Assistant to provide general office administration services for our Architecture & Interior Design Studio. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to learn in a growing office environment. The job will require an energetic approach to overseeing the general office organization, team events, client outreach, and general assistance to the Principals, including their travel and schedules. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee general office organization (including maintaining sample library & conference room)
  • Sit in on meetings to take meeting minutes
  • Assist project team with preparing meeting agendas
  • Answer phone calls, run errands, and sort incoming and outgoing mail
  • Coordinate lunches & breakfasts as required
  • Assist project team with various tasks, including printing, preparation for meetings, etc.
  • Answer doorbell, greet guests, provide them with water & coffee
  • Maintain office supply stock
  • Assist Principal with personal needs as necessary, including travel & schedule
  • Coordinate with PR firm
  • Organize project photography

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in a fast-paced office, preferably a design firm
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in the MS suite of tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to take direction and initiative with minimal supervision
  • Motivated and cooperative problem solver with a strong work ethic
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Other Details

  • Part time position, 20 hours a week, paid hourly
  • Some night and weekend hours may be required
  • A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license is required
